From one of our power users we have received this:
Depending on how you have ISA setup, and how strict you are with your
network, you may need to add some rules to allow our software to function
properly. Our software has been tested with ISA and should work if you follow
the guidelines below.
Do you have Web Access log turned on? This will greatly help in the
diagnostics of any problems.
Are you blocking Application Octet-Streams? If yes, then you will need to
create the following rules. Even if you believe you are not, then creation of
these rules will help to aid in the diagnostics of what is wrong.
Under Policy Elements you will need to create both a Destination Set and a
Content Group.
Destination Set - Create a New Destination set that points to the IP address
of the software that you are using. (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx & yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy)
Content Group - Create a new content group of type Application Octet-Stream.
(this is for the Client program - I am unsure of the stream that is used by the
Active X, but have a feeling it is the same)
Access Policy - Create a new Site and Content Rule - You want to:
1)ALLOW
2)Apply rule to Specified Destination Set (the one you just created)
3)Schedule - Always
4)Apply rule to ANY request (optionally, you can select specific computers or
specific users, but we would only recommend this AFTER the issue has been
resolved.)
After you complete the wizard to create this Access Policy rule, you will
need to open the rule, click on the HTTP Content tab, and select the Content
Rule that you created earlier (Application Octet-Stream.)
If you are using the Firewall Client for ISA, then you will need to press the
Update Now button in order for your computer to refresh with your ISA server. If
you are not using the Firewall Client, ISA will not update immediately and may
take up to a day for your system to refresh.
