Updating time in MSAccess Database with ADO

kbmMW related

This applies to MS Access only.

After doing a lot research I discovered that a DateTime field will not save the time portion if you use ADO. In order for it to work correctly you have to use the Jet engine.

This connection string causes problem (other params trimmed)
 "DRIVER={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=c:\InetPub\wwwroot\database\guestbook.mdb"

This connecttion string works perfectly
Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Jet OLEDB:Engine Type=5;Data Source=C:\CFIInternet\Data\Guestbook.mdb
