kbmMW InControl Fieldtest invitation

kbmMW InControl

A new Enterprise level product is getting close to be released as v1.

kbmMW InControl consists of the following parts:

  • a kbmMW Management Console
  • a kbmMW Repository Server
  • new management services for kbmMW Pro/ProPlus/Enterprise Editions
  • new components for own servers for handling local and remote configuration repositories
  • a set of classes and components to design custom configuration objects along with matching editors

The concept of InControl is to be able to have complete centralized management of any number kbmMW based application servers, and to control/manage/operate these either as part of farms or as individual servers.

The advantages are obvious:

  • have a full overview of all your servers, regardless of where in the world they run
  • have complete control of the servers bootstrap configuration
  • have complete control over the servers other configuration during its lifetime
  • monitor statistics etc. on farms or individual servers
  • ensure servers health are at peak all the time, and detect soon to fail servers/services to proactively handle the situation to avoid a breakdown

The management console is intelligent in the sense it detects what configuration objects are available in the servers and automatically provide access to those objects. The settings for the objects can be stored in the repository server or in the application server itself. An application server can at any time load configuration objects from any remote repository or from its own local repository, which means its easily possible to design distributed repositories where the configurations are obtained from multiple remote repositories.

All servers can participate in farms which are defined by the administrator. Each server can easily participate in more logical farms. A farm can also contain sub farms which in turn have servers attached. When one is managing a farm, one is automatically getting access to manage all the servers underneath that farm, including its subfarms. Hence a very flexible farm hierachy can be built making automated management easy.

The console also contains a complete script integrated development environment where scripts can be written in Pascal, Javascript, Basic or C syntax and debugged, and a complete form designer to design custom forms. The scripts can be server dedicated, farm dedicated or public. Its easily possible to call one script from another. All scripts are stored in a central repository.

The scripts have, amongst other things, access to remote servers and their configuration objects and thus can automate lots of tasks.

As we are now getting close to a v1 release time, we would like to invite serious fieldtesters to test InControl.

We specially look for fieldtesters in larger setups with multiple concurrent servers running.

If you would like to participate in the fieldtest, please send a request to fieldtest@components4developers.com containing your purchase transaction ID/license ID of kbmMW, the application you would like to enroll into the fieldtest with kbmMW InControl, some metrics over the number of servers and load and finally the name and email address of the developer in charge of the fieldtest.

best regards
