Q: What is kbmMemTable?

A: kbmMemTable is a very complete memory table. That means it can store/manipulate/search in data organized as records consisting of fields.

Q: I see its licensed under an InfoWare license. What is that?

A: In short, InfoWare means that the developer using kbmMemTable is required to send an email to support@components4developers.com about that you are using it, and for what purpose.

Q: Is is really free?

A: Yes. Its free.. and includes source! The only cost is for the help file which is US$15 / named developer.

Q: I already have X (or have heard about X) memory table. Why should I use kbmMemTable?

A: Its entirely up to you. However kbmMemTable is a stable product. Its the fastest memory table around. Its one of the most full featured memory tables around. It has been around for 7 years, and is still constantly evolving. Its not a dead end. Enough reasons? :)

Q: Can it be used in .Net?

A: Yes. kbmMemTable is available for .Net. It can be used by all .Net languages.

Q: Can it be used on Linux?

A: Yes, kbmMemTable is available for Linux via Borlands Kylix product.

Q: And what about Win32?

A: Sure... thats where it originally originates from.

Q: What types of fields are supported?

A: kbmMemTable supports the following fieldtypes: String, Smallint, Integer, Word, Boolean, Float, Currency, Date, Time, DateTime, AutoInc, BCD, FmtBCD, TimeStamp, Blob, Memo, Graphic, FmtMemo, ParadoxOle, DBaseOle, TypedBinary, Bytes, VarBytes, FixedChar, WideString, LargeInt, ADT, Array, OraBlob, OraClob, GUID, TimeStamp, FixedWideChar, WideMemo, OraTimeStamp, OraInterval

Which exact types of fields are supported depends on the Delphi/Borland C++ Builder/Kylix/Borland Developer Studio version used to compile it with.

Q: Can I use it in VS.Net ?

A: Yes. When kbmMemTable has been compiled as an assembly, you can use all its facilities within VS.Net. You will however need a couple more support/runtime assemblies provide by Borland.
